TRAVEL DIARY – LONDON FOR MY SISTER’S 21ST BIRTHDAY
So on the 1st of April it was my Sisters 21st Birthday (April fools, jk it really was.) So we decided to take a lil trip to London! We originally wanted to go to Amsterdam but we kind of left it too late so London it was.
I will leave links to as many things such as hotels ect. if not please leave a comment and ask!
We travelled from Bristol to London on Friday the 30th of April, we left at 10 Am and it took about 3 hours to get there. We decided to drive as the train was well over £100 each so that was a no no! Plus with my anxiety I feel much safer with the car there I guess.
We checked into the Premier Inn Hub in Convent Garden, it cost about £80-£120 per night and we stayed for three nights. I had my own room as I literally do not sleep with other people in the room unless it is my Boyfriend so my Mum and Sister shared a room together. The rooms were stunning, they were so modern and gorgeous. We were located in Convent Garden so close to a tube station and sort of central.
So on the first day we got there and chilled for a little before needing to park the car so we did that and then got some late lunch in Frankie and Bennies. After that we went back to our lovely rooms and had a good two hours to chill. We had the London Eye booked for 6pm in the hope of getting a nice sunset however it had been raining ALL DAY so that was unachievable… The London Eye was good, I have done it before however it is something that isn’t boring if you do it again. I really recommend doing the eye, the views are incredible. Finally we strolled back to our hotel which was about a 15 minute walk and I ended up watching Pitch Perfect 3 in my Mum and Sister’s rooms. It was free on the TV!
The next day (Saturday the 31st) we had two attractions planned, Sea Life and School Of Rock at the theatre! We woke up about 8am ish and left our hotel at 9.30am to go and get brunch and go to Sea Life which was booked for 10.30am. Sea life was a short walk away and it was really good. It is well worth the money and a trip! We went to see School Of Rock at the London Theatre in Covent Garden at the matinee performance. Our tickets cost £50 each and we were sat in the Stalls. It was AMAZING. I 100% recommend going to watch it, the children were absolutely incredible. I’m still speechless. Finally we were pretty tired so ordered a dominos and sat in bed watching Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway (Can’t say it’s Ants’ also!) then just headed to sleep.
Our final full day was my sister’s birthday so after a slow morning and present giving we headed to Bills for the most amazing brunch. I had a pancake stack with bacon and elderflower presse. 10/10 recommend! Then we browsed around a few shops but most were closed at is was Easter Sunday. After this we headed to Madame Tussauds, we braved the tube and headed to Baker Street which was a short walk to and from Madame Tussauds. I must say, it was crap. It was so so disappointing. They let so many people in so when we were in the actual sections with the wax figures you could hardly move! This made my anxiety sky high, which to be fair my anxiety had been settled whilst away. After that disappointment we headed back to our hotel and ordered a deliveroo then headed to sleep, we were exhausted.
Check out was at 12 noon which I thought was so generous! So we had a slow morning of packing everything up and then headed home again. It was so nice to go away but even nicer to go home again.
That concludes my little trip to London for my Sister’s Birthday,!
