High-End Makeup Haul And First Impressions
So I recently I visited a Cosmetics Company Store which sales reduced makeup, I’m not sure if that is a particular thing at the Swindon Designer Outlets or not. I picked up three things so thought I would do a little first impressions! I bought everything in the moment and I’m so glad I did.
First things first, I’m the realist. Anyway it’s the Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in place SPF 10 Foundation in the shade ‘1N2 Ecru ‘, it retails for £33.50 however I picked it up for £23.50 ! I picked this on a Wim, I’ve heard lots about it before but never picked it up. Seeing as it was £10 cheaper I couldn’t not (That’s my justification anyway).
What It Claims
‘Long-wearing makeup with 15-hour staying power. Looks flawless and natural. Lasts through heat, humidity, non-stop activity. Won’t change colour, smudge or come off on clothes. Feels lightweight and comfortable.’
Oh my life this has CHANGED MY LIFE!! This foundation is absolutely incredible, I’m so impressed. It has made me fall back in love with foundation and makeup and I’m so happy about it. I find foundation dries up and clings to my skin however this doesn’t, it sits on the skin really nice. Wearing a primer and using moisturiser underneath is definitely a must, using it without one makes it feel and look horrible on the skin and I highly wouldn’t recommend it! It is too dark however I’ve used The Body Shop lightening drops to make it more my shade.
Next I got the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water 116ml. It’s rrp is £22 and it was on offer for £15.50 which is expensive for what ever it is however I thought if it is good then it’ll be worth it, I had similar thoughts with Mac Fix+.
What It Claims
‘Mists on to add radiance and prep skin for makeup application. It instantly absorbs into skin for immediate, lasting hydration, leaving it looking ultra-soft. It delivers revitalising electrolytes that reawaken skin and restore moisture.’
I used this along side the Double Wear Foundation and that combo is the best. It feels refreshing and nice on the skin, it doesn’t feel like my skin is soaking wet (I mean if you sprayed a lot on then it would but you get the gist!). I really recommend this Primer Water, it is worth the money.
Finally I picked up the Mac Mineralize SkinFinish in ‘Soft and Gentle’, this cost £17 instead of it’s retail price of £25.50 . I picked this up as soon as I saw it, I couldn’t not. I’m pretty sure this is Mac’s most popular highlight that everyone raves about. I didn’t need it but that wasn’t gonna stop me! The Dandelion Twinkle Highlighter by Benefit is my absolute fav so it has to be pretty good for me to start using it regularly.
What It Claims
‘A luxurious powder with 77-Mineral Complex that adds highlights to the face and body.’
I’m not completely overwhelmed by this if I’m honest. It seems quite patchy, it’s hard to blend. It kind of just sits on the skin really badly. I’m so disappointed by this as it is so hyped hence why I bought it!
Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed my first impressions!
