THE ORDINARY FOUNDATION REVIEW, SERUM OR COVERAGE? WHICH IS BETTER?

THE ORDINARY FOUNDATION REVIEW, SERUM OR COVERAGE? WHICH IS BETTER?

If you’ve seen my recent Asos Haul then you’d see I have bought two The Ordinary foundations, serum and coverage. I have seen various people talking about these so wanted to try them myself.

Firstly, The Ordinary Coverage Foundation.

Price/weight

£5.90.

Scent

It doesnt really smell like anything to be honest.

Shade

1.2 Y.

Packaging

The packaging is nice. Considering it’s so cheap it looks luxurious and like it could be more expensive.

Where you can buy it

Asos, cult beauty.

Performance

This is so orangey on my skin… I tested in on my hand and was kind of shocked! It does have Yellow tones but I wasn’t impressed with how orange it looked even on the back of my hand. That being said i still wanted to try it out. I did my normal skincare so I could test it properly then continued to apply the foundation. I use my BO1 Spectrum Brush which is my favourite for applying foundation and then use an Eco Tools sponge to blend it. I really don’t like this foundation, I’m surprised as this is supposed to give coverage as it says in the name of the product but it didn’t, the serum foundation which is supposed to be lighter coverage had a higher coverage! Maybe if the shade wasn’t literally orange and a bad consistecy then I’d like it but I’m not impressed!

Conclusion

I had high hopes for this but it’s a no from me! It is cheap so isn’t a waste of money however I am disappointed.

The Ordinary Serum Foundation.

Price/weight

£5.70 for 30 ml.

Scent

It doesn’t smell of too much however after a while all I could smell is paint!

Shade

1.2N Light Neutral

Packaging

The packaging is nice. Considering it’s so cheap it looks luxurious and like it could be more expensive.

Where you can buy it

Performance

I was super worried about this when I put it on the back of my hand to apply however I do really like it! It also literally is like water. The colour looks super orange/yellow toned but because I have fake tanned it suits me perfectly. It has lasted all day and I’m genuinley impressed considering I was worried! You do need to make sure it is blended in but other than that I LOVE the consitency and it feels like there is nothing on my skin which I like.

Conclusion

All in all I do really like this foundation, I think it is important you get the correct shade though!

Comparisons:

The Coverage Foundation is awful yet the serum is amazing , I thought it would be the other way round as I love medium to full coverage!
